Possession (1981) - Andrzej Żuławski

On the one hand I can see the DPP struggling with how to deal with this film, as I'm sort of unsure how to classify it myself. The strange blend of intense drama and horror you find in "Possession" is quite unique, and I guess this is why it has managed to stay relevant in both the horror and art circuits. The art people shunning at the idea of a rubber monster in a serious film and the horror peeps wondering why it takes so long for the film to "get to the point". Anyways, its brilliant film that doesn't deserve to be in the same group as a lot of the junk on the DPP list. On the topic of Zulawski: Everyone should see his "Third Part of the Night".
