Encounters of the Spooky Kind (1980) - Sammo Hung

The spooky trilogy is another series I sadly never checked out until recently. Written, directed, choreographed and starring Sammo Hung, who surprisingly excels at all of these things. Very entertaining and silly, without suffering from the usual amount of piss-based humour you tend to find in HK comedies. Hung plays a naive fatty encountering tons of spooky shit, while trying to figure out the identity of his wife's lover. Sorcerers, hopping vampires and cops complicate Hung's quest for truth, survival and the opportunity to give his wife a beating in glorious slow-motion. Dudes are possessed by gods and do martial arts. However, the conflict is ultimately decided by who has the tallest altar. Obviously.
